Operations Committee:
The Operations Committee is a standing Committee of the MCBDMA whose purpose is to oversee and guide the sanitation & safety programs performed by the Management Authority within in the District, and coordinate with such activities that other organizations perform.  Duties include:

  • Sanitation Program functions
  • Solicit input and ideas about Sanitation within the District;
  • Develop Work Plan each year that identifies, prioritizes, and outlines goals, strategies, timeline and accountability for Committee and staff that is compliant with the mandate, Strategic Plan, and includes the input of groups and residents in the District;
  • Monitor program to ensure accomplishment of - and celebrate accomplishments of - stated goals;
  • Review complaint statistics, trends, and resident input in order to target trash fighting strategies;
  • Consider and develop innovations in sanitation programming and strategies;
  • Review, act on, and coordinate, when necessary, city policies and similar developments impacting sanitation issues;
  • Ensure baseline agreement with the City are in compliance;
  • Advocate for strong Sanitation efforts in the District;
  • Consider Sanitation outreach and education campaign for residents and stakeholders in the District;
  • Ensure strategies are coordinated with other MCBDMA Committees;
  • Safety Program functions:
  • Solicit input and ideas about Safety within the District;
  • Develop Work Plan each year that identifies, prioritizes, and outlines goals, strategies, timeline and accountability for Committee and staff that is compliant with the mandate, Strategic Plan, and includes the input of groups and residents in the District;
  • Monitor program to ensure accomplishment of – and celebrate accomplishments of - stated goals;
  • Assist in providing safety information and outreach to community residents;
  • Review crime statistics, trends, and resident input in order to target crime fighting strategies;
  • Ensure baseline service agreement with City is in compliance;
  • Advocate for strong Safety efforts in the District;
  • Ensure residents and stakeholders in the District are aware of Safety issues;
  • Ensure strategies are coordinated with other MCBDMA Committees;
  • Operate following the General Practices of Board Committees
